Is this the same story from a month or so ago, someone just decided to tweet it again?
Doing a bit of digging, it is from February, apparently. The tweet reiterating the news is from April.
Now, before some contrarian fap-addict struts around the thread at perceived moral victory that the news isn't from this week, I'd say it begs the question:
No matter where the money went, shouldn't it be wholly unacceptable for such obvious lapses in stewardship of taxpayer dollars in the first place?
The story should make the rounds daily for pure exposure's sake.
The overarching contention isn't that they can't account for all of it, but rather that the use of taxpayer dollars should be a sacred trust. Any time there is lax oversight in how the money is routed, to whom it is sent, and how auditable that trail is, you invite the fraud, waste, abuse and money laundering that comes when we assume the worst about our government.
I can't speak for everyone, but that is a non-negotiable. People absolutely need to be held responsible when laws have been broken, but not at a pace that results in appropriate justice being derailed on procedural nonsense, judicial activism or other shenanigans.
These sorts of prosecutions are worth waiting for.

Yes, which is why your conspiracy theories detract from reality and the real discussions that need to be had therein.
