Just no......the REAL division between the 2 parties start during Bush I....Obama made everything about race (which divided the country) and blamed whitey for everything. Do some research and see how many times he blamed the white Reps for them disagreeing with him.

How do liberals on here explain why 60%+ of the electorate in the 2016 election thought the economy was "not so good" or "poor"?

You guys always bring up that she won the popular vote, but you never bring up that the popular vote also saw the economy as a problem.

There could be a dozen different reasons for this. Wouldn't be able to say unless I saw the poll. A few, though:

a) Saying the economy is not so good and saying Obama deserves credit for an economic turnaround are not mutually exclusive. This somewhat describes my view, for instance.
b) Older voters who recall periods of explosive growth are using a different metric for success than younger people, especially those in the latter group who graduated during recession and its aftermath
c) The negative campaigning against Obama and Hillary was extremely potent. If you can amplify your message and maintain it's consistency, you can convince people of anything.

What did he blame white republicans for? And when did he make things about race, outside of a couple of speeches? I mean, did he make it about race when passing Dodd-Frank? When lobbying for the ACA? When trying to pass the stimulus? I'm confused.

Yes, if that happened I would blame him.

It won't b/c it's our debt isn't causing us any non self-imposed problems and won't at these levels. But if it did.

Thats an absurdist comment imo.
At what point is diverting money needed for necessary goods and services, in order to service interest payments on the debt, become destroying the economy? Or don't you believe there is such a point?

As a reasonable person, I wold say his comments of the Trayvon files was completely out of line. I mean the president, who black people look up to a shite ton, says something before the verdict like "my son would have looked like that little boy". Thats out of line, and created way more tension for every black/police killing regardless of context. Most of those videos *start* when the tension has escalated. Context on both sides is irrelevant now. If a black person beats up a white person, the whites immediately scream hate crime and "if roles were reversed" stuff. But if a white cop kills a black person, then around here youll see "lets wait till all the evidence comes out" or "he was a good boy dindu".

After the Trayvon comments I think obama saw the issue of speaking his mind, and never commented on a racial trial again.

He also had BLM at the white house, which now, we realize how misguided and off basis they became. I think they were an okay group with a message and purpose in the very beginning until the violence started.

The economic cycle continued despite Obama, not because of him. The recovery act you cite was a monumental failure. Obama's policies retarded growth. I find it hilarious you think otherwise.

This is fair criticism but the divisiveness in Obama's presidency started in the run up to the 2010 midterms. The Trayvon thing happened in 2013.

I don't disagree with that. Racial tension has been around since the civil war, I think Obama gave the black people more of a "voice" and "hope" so to speak about their issues. As if there was a thorn of racism and black people decided to pull it out. Was always going to get worse before better, but needed to be pulled to start healing. I think it will get better.

You asked what was wrong with UGAy, and I responded. This is how conversations work.

Our GDP is 18.5 trillion and our interest payments are 400bn. Seems reasonable. If we need additional money for "necessary" goods and services, we can always issue more debt at an extremely favorable rate. In fact, we SHOULD be doing this and using it to make massive investments in infrastructure.

Concerns about the debt are 99% of the time a political tool used by the out of power party to curb spending on the priorities of the majority.
