The TEXIT Petition

Texas does not have actual citizen initiative where Texans can, by petition, put a legislative issue on the General Election ballot; however, there is a provision in the the Texas Election Code 172.088 that allows Texas voters, by petition, to place a non-binding question onto a party’s primary ballot.

On June 14th, the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) launched a campaign to collect enough petition signatures to place the TEXIT question on the 2022 Primary Election ballot. With enough signatures, next year (March 2022), Texans could have the opportunity to go to the polls and cast their vote on the following issue:

"The State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation. FOR OR AGAINST"

Between now and December 1st, 2021, the TNM is fielding hundreds of volunteer petition circulators to collect the signatures of over 76,854 Texans who want a chance to vote on TEXIT.

With enough signatures, the TNM can force the TEXIT question onto the Primary Election ballot of the Republican and/or Democratic Party.

This is exactly what we’re doing, and we need your help to do it.

Note: We want to exceed 85,000 signatures to account for the margin of error. As for what happens once the question “passes” in the 2022 primary ... nothing, in terms of binding legal action. The benefit is entirely on putting substantial pressure on our legislators. This Primary Election vote is a legal and highly visible way of doing it, with an official vote on Texas Independence all but automatically going onto the General Election ballot in November 2022. Texas legislators will know greater than 50% of the Texas electorate wants to vote on TEXIT.

Here’s where you come in ....

:: Sign the Petition ::

Unlike every other previous petition on the issue of TEXIT, this is a valid and legal petition that can place the question of TEXIT on the ballot in Texas. But you must sign the petition in the presence of a TNM Certified Petition Circulator (CPC). Below are upcoming July events across the state where you have the opportunity to sign.

Do they check signatures, or can I just go strolling through the local graveyard looking for Democrats to add to the list?

Yes.
Signature checking is the reason petition signers are asked to give the information they are.

Thank you for the question.

On what?

I’ll “get a grip” with re: to this issue when Texas achieves independence or when I move on to my final resting place.

I can’t sit back and allow others to do the work.

Is TNM coming back up to Tomball? Hard to make it down to Kirby Icehouse on a whim.

Without a doubt.

The link above will show additional dates as they’re added.
I’ll list them monthly here, provided it’s ok with management for me to do so.

The other option is to visit the home/business of a Certified Petition Circulator (CPC) in your area.

Find a CPC (TNM website)
