Seems this would be a very elegant solution to the problem of progressive company censorship and denial of service to people on the right.

No need for any additional regulation. No need for any complex legislation to regulate google/FB/youtube as public spaces.

You simply make discrimination based on political creed the same as discrimination based on sexual orientation. You won't make a swastika cake for a nazi bar mitzvah? See you in court, shitlords.

No. I believe you should be able to discriminate against people for a choice they made

^^^THIS

The very existence of protected groups is government sanctioned discrimination.

But that's not happening.

You don't have freedom of association. Forget it. It's gone. You are never going to have it with the current USA.

I'm suggesting a real solution that has a chance of implementation.

Then, NO, I do not support creating even more protected classes for people, especially since I firmly believe the creation of protected classes of people is wrong and should be done away with...

Better?

1. Most public accommodation laws do not include protections for “sexual orientation.“
2. I certainly do not favor expanding the protected classes.
3. Your proposal would seem to have “free speech” implications.

Freedom of Association is so that the government cannot come after you for associating with a group, not so that companies can decide not to interact with you.

Which is also what makes the IRS scandal so fricking infuriating
