Did you pray about the election?
Once it was apparent that Trump was going to win the election I prayed to God Almighty to reveal himself to President elect Trump and give Trump the humility, wisdom and divine spirit to lead this great country.

Yes, I asked God to change the direction of this country. I said if it was his will to continue the demise of our country then so be it but give us a chance to put him back in our life. I believe this may be our last chance.

Did not pray in 08. I did hear God was disappointed with the electorates wisdom and poor judgement after we were all warned that Obama was/is a socialist/progressive.
Obama pushed an agenda that is antithesis of what made this country the great!

Second, why would god have interest in the outcome of a country that wasn't founded on the Christian religion? I think you're saying prayer worked because your man was elected or maybe telling yourself that helps you sleep at night. Prayer had nothing to do with this election. Anything can be covered with the "God's will" phrase. It was god will for hitler to murder 6 million of his chosen people? Isis was formed because we didn't pray enough or was that God's will?
The first question cannot be answered because this country does have its roots in Christianity. Prayer works because John the Apostle says so.
1 John 5:13-15 KJV
[13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. [14] And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: [15] And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
This letter was written to the early Christians, not non-believers.

I'm going to take notice of all the pray warriors in this thread so I know who my peeps are.

I did - in the days leading up to it.
I did - I have suffered a lot of bad news recently and prayed for strength and wisdom to carry thru. I actually felt small for praying about the election for fear that it was motivated purely by personal desire. But I truly believed it was best for the American ideal which is much more compatible with God's grand Design than the hedonist progressive moral rot.

What exactly is the demise of our country? I think the US is a better place now that 30 years ago.
Unless you count the destruction of the family unit. I think that's the biggest problem in our country today but unfortunately evangelicals have the same frivolous divorce rate as non-Christians.
I wonder how many on this board that spew moral outrage divorced for non-biblical reasons. Its just a sin Christians gloss over because marraige is hard and we can all relate.

My wife did on her way home from Marksville Tues. Her and a friend were having lunch today and talking about her praying. Gentleman in the booth next to them got up to leave and told my wife on the way out that yes, he too had prayed that God would do his will. Said his prayer was answered. Myself, I do believe divine intervention played a part. You just don't have that much luck and coincidences that line up just right in something as complex as a presidential race.
Let's pray Trump develops a genuine relationship with the Creator, I can guarantee you if this happens the USA just hit Power Ball.
It does not mean Roe v Wade, gay marriage, legalized drug laws etc. are overturned (each soul will be judged on their works and deeds before God), it means we immediately cease this insane march towards socialism and the entitlement society.
Society has to regain it's believe that a stable household/family is #1 and hard work will be rewarded.

What you say is true, unfortunately Christians have not obeyed God's words either. I think the degradation of morality coupled with the collective searing of the country's conscience has produced the society we have today.

That's not true. Something that may seem trivial to man may have a a tremendous impact on mankind down the road. Nobody knows Gods plan but we can all be sure that it is perfect.

Treaty of tripoli says differently.

the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.
So why would god care about American politics. It's the same as god having a say in sports.

Prayer works because some guy said it does. Solid argument.

It is the absolute height of both arrogance and credulity. How otherwise intelligent adults cope with the cognitive dissonance is beyond me.
Nobody is trying to convince you of anything, nor trying to convert you, nor condemning you.
The OP was a question about whether or not anyone prayed. You are welcome to pop another pill and snicker all you want, but you are the arrogant and incredulous one to think that your intrusion on this thread is of any significance at all.
Faith is not to be explained rationally or intellectually. That is why it is called faith and not science. You apparently don't understand that. Berating us for our faith is equivalent to me berating you for your taste in music.
The founders of this great nation had faith. Faith guided them as they fought the revolution, wrote a constitution, and organized a government around their faith.
In the past number of decades this nation has drifted far away from the essential faith that was ubiquitous during its founding and its rise to superpower status. Find another reason for the cultural rot that has accompanied our rejection of faith and I might listen to you in another thread. This is not the thread for that.
