Did the DOJ ever say why they didn't ask for the MAL documents?

The DOJ/FBI knew what documents Trump had because Trump invited them into his MAL residence on June 3rd to inspect them then they left.
Instead of conducting a raid on Donald and Melania's MAL residence why didn't the DOJ just ask for the documents?

They had to make a news splash. If you are still operating under the assumption that the FBI and DOJ are actual law enforcement agencies you are way behind the curve. Both are criminal political organizations operations directly against the people of the US.

When something doesn't make sense don't waste time on the illogical actions, look for another motivation. Eventually when you find the correct motivation you'll find the logic.
