Yesterday DHS released a statement (copied below) about the illegal alien ICE shot in Austin on Sunday. Still no details from ICE on WHY the alien was shot.

I'm glad to see DHS correct the record as to some lies. I thought they would just clam up. I still don't think DHS will ever explain how the shooting was lawful unless they are forced to through litigation or state prosecution.

The City of Austin released dash cam footage to show ICE in contact with Perez 15 minutes BEFORE the shooting. So that kills any claim that Perez didn't know who was pursuing him.

FWIW, the Washington Post (consider the source) reports that the ICE agent who shot Perez had a bodycam. Behind a pay wall. Here's the ChatGPT summary:
