I'm serious. Don't you think they want a conviction as late as possible? The issue isn't the indictment, which we all know will happen. It's the conviction. I'm guessing the trial will take a year and that Trump doesn't take a plea. You convict too early and Republicans rally around someone new. Convict late and that can't happen. Some will vote for Trump even as he's being sentenced, splitting the vote and assuring Biden of the win.
