He's about to term out in Florida, so he would be out of the public eye a few years before 28. That's forever in politics. Trump may not even be eligible to be a candidate in all the states once they're done with the lawfare suits. We have to have a backup plan that can win the damn election.
From his perspective, all signs point to running now. From our perspective, it can't really hurt as long as they patch it up after the primary and go after the Establishment. Probably what we should be calling them these days. Democrats and RINOs alike.

His term literally 3nds in 2027. He got elected a year ago or so.
So he's abandoning his job to run.

1) it's not forever in politics. People run for POTUS after years out of office all the time. Ummm Trump is literally doing that now.
2) he can stay in the national eye better by not being governor of Florida. It frees him up for publicity tours
3) if he wasn't running against Trump, he could help Trump win and get a cabinet position
