With the growing media coverage of "deepfakes" and how they can be used to frame folks, do you believe that actual damning videos of elected officials, famous celebrities, and royal figures exist?

and if so, why would the "good guys" allow that narrative to build instead of simply releasing the videos and throwing those guilty parties to the hounds?

There is zero doubt of this.

It's important to note which ones are doing the fear mongering. Cough cough [Schittforbrains]

Oh, I don't necessarily doubt it at all.

I just don't understand why the white hats would allow the deepfake narrative to build instead of releasing the videos and letting these people feel the wrath they deserve

I think most of the really damning photos and videos never see the light of day. They are used for leverage on critical votes.

There will be a deep fake of Trump saying the N word released a week before the election.

I'm very confident about that, actually. Surprised it hasn't been deployed as a gambit against him already tbh.

There have been a total of zero deep fake videos related to politics.

It is interesting that they are creating a problem that doesn't exist.

I honestly think it won't only be utilized to damage the current political enemies of the DS.

It will also be used to change history, perceptions of historical figures, and incriminate enemies of the state.

It's a tool to be used by those with evil intentions, IMO

Schiff went pretty hard on protesting them about a month ago. Don't care what it is I'll wait for someone to describe his video to me.

I agree, but you know they're doing everything they can to make them more believable
