This is all bullshite and nothing for anyone to crow about.
You know who was against this? A bunch of frickin' affluent white people and a rich black celebrity.
Take out the rich black celebrity and this shite gets built. That council doesn't give one single shite what all those upper middle class white supremacists want.

Are they attacking Dave because he is black?

So, it's high density housing, not affordable housing. Either way, I agree with Chappelle. Anything that changes, negatively, the town's complexity that is a detraction from the norm, should be refused.
I agree.
It's just that some tards on here don't understand that section 8 housing is government assisted housing, which this development is not.
Houses are to be 300k to 600k.
Less than the existing homes in that area, but not exactly "low income", and not section 8.

Article said the cheapest homes would be condos starting at 200k, houses would cost far more.
I don't understand his objection. Will it impact the value of his property? Interfere with traffic?
What is his basis for objections?

Dave lives in the middle of 39 acres. He is pissed because the edge of this development would back up to his property.
That’s Dave’s mistake. If I was worth what he is worth I would have a house in the middle of 5000 acres. High fenced. One road in and out.

You have to understand the nature of Yellow Springs. It's different. It's like "Weird" Austin TX on a much, much smaller scale. They have kept it a village for decades, because there has been demand to build more and more there since forever.
There really isn't a need for affordable housing in Yellow Springs. It's just a developer trying to make a buck. Lots and lots of affordable housing in Fairborn, Xenia, and Springfield. I'm not at all a fan of the Leftist politics of the town (Huge gay rights and lots of signs that read "Be Kind, Wear a Mask"), but it really should remain the "way that it is."

Crime from people buying 500k homes?

It's true. My dearest hope is that houses in my neighborhood become completely unaffordable.

Whereas Dave Chapelle seems to have moved to rural Ohio as a means to have escaped these moronic policies advocated by them.
Dave grew up and spent all of his summers in Yellow Springs because his dad worked at Antioch College. Antioch was always "out there".
Made national news in the 1990's for its absolute consent approach to sexual assault. You had to get verbal permission for every base you were trying to achieve!
It's really hard for people to understand the fight without understanding the town. It's quite different. I'm kind of surprised they are even letting him go forward with the Comedy Club idea, but he's a favored son and rich, so there's that.
And just to add, there's almost no way a newly allowed housing development in Yellow Springs with brand new houses starts anywhere under 400K in price range.
