The curfew is a tool, not an end in and of itself.
The idea is to get civilians off the street and basically let the cops know that anyone out is highly likely to be a bad actor.
Having a curfew but not letting NYPD operate was just fricking stupid.

Between this, the Covid outbreak, the extreme rise in antisemitism, and the rise in crime, he's the worst. The entire country didn't exactly pay for Baltimore, but the entire country has paid for De Blasio being the mayor of New York. I'd kill myself if I were De Blasio at this point.
