That's what you told Hammer of Rod. It's quite clear you were claiming that his trust in scientific experiments were committing the Appeal to Authority logical fallacy.

Not at all. I was merely pointing out that we take a lot of things on authority. That's it. That was the point. I was not claiming that appealing to authority is a formal logical fallacy, or was fallacious in that case.

This is simply a misunderstanding. We take lots of things on authority that are true. That was the point. BUT, the point was also that we don't know these things from personal experience or direct observation.

The only thing your example shows is that we believe things with research, data, and scientific evidence. If that was your point, fine I would agree with that. The problem is that you’re using the word authority where it doesn’t belong.

I most definitely am not.

Where in the bible does it say it's ok to kill anyone?

Jesus said to "turn the other cheek" and "love your enemy". I don't recall one passage in any of the gospels where Jesus says, its ok to kill those accused of crimes, in self defense, or in times of war.

Call me crazy, but after reading the gospels, I would bet Jesus would be against the death penalty.

What does John 8:1-11 teach us?

With the death penalty, we know that innocent people have been put to death. Are you ok with that? The fact that it can and has happened should make us all reconsider if we should continue with this practice.

People like you are evil

I am evil because i think the killing of any humans is wrong? Ok buddy. I think your definition of evil needs to be reevaluated.
