why do you care if people want to pay more for better access?

A question from someone who doesn't seem to understand the technology.

Light travels at the speed light travels at.

"Speed" is the colloquial term for bandwidth. IE. how large the pipe is.

We already have "paid fast lanes" in the generic sense in the way you can pay to have more bandwidth (30mbps, 60mbps, 100mbps, etc).

The only way for them to create "paid fast lanes" in a fashion different from what exists is to negatively impact existing service.

The only reason they would update their pledge is if they plan on doing something they weren't already doing.

2 + 2 = 4

Pretty obvious but you still might have to slow that down for them.

Not one packet is more important than the other, it’s not that hard but they still can’t seem to grasp that concept.

Could you tell if they had their fingers crossed?

They removed "Comcast doesn't prioritize Internet traffic or create paid fast lanes".
Doesn't the third line of the updated policy address that by specifically mentioning NN protections?

The first two lines of the previous policy are combined in the first line of the updated policy.

The new policy addresses all of the complaints that have been repeated on this board for weeks.

The only difference I see between the two policy statements is the "low income" pricing promise. It's gone in the second statement unless the committment to adhere to NN protections already includes such a pricing policy.

Isn't that considered to be a "net neutrality protection"?

If so, then that concept is covered in the first and third lines of the new policy.

To paraphrase you, it's not that hard to understand but you can't seem to grasp that concept.

But changing it from will not to don't changes it from a pledge to... nothing, really. They are pledging nothing. It's dumb.

And if your ISP decides that that only liberal sites get access to the fast lanes you'll be completely calm. I mean, they wouldn't be blocking, throttling, or discriminating would they?
That would be discriminating based on content.

Some of you refuse to take "yes" for an answer.
