Aren’t constitutional rights conferred at birth? If so, wouldn’t this be age discrimination by denying the child emergency medical care simply because he/she is seconds old? No way this can pass constitutional muster.
Exactly. There is already a Federal statute passed in the early 2000s that deals with this.

This is simply dishonest electioneering that Republicans continue to lie about.

In the past year, how many times has there been a live birth after a botched abortion?

Is it a massive, pervasive problem, screaming for legislative action?

So only one person is held a slave in the US last year.

If legislation is passed that helps prevent this your against?

One such survivor was just at the State Of The Union IIRC.
you recall incorrectly.

That little girl was not an “abortion survivor.“ She was simply a very, very early preemie who survived infancy.

Trump simply used her as a segue into an abortion argument.

You wonder. Let's say its miniscule.

Why not protect the baby?

This does not come close to touching all those first trimester abortions. It just prevents murder of a baby.

If its thousands or a handful isn't the principle the same?

You tend to do too much inferring.

I do not oppose this bill. I am just curious whether it is addressing an ACTUAL problem ... or is instead pure Right virtue signaling, creating a crime for an action that never happens. Enacting statues purely for the cameras.

Bernie and Warren want to give Medicare to all for free, but won't give medical care to a baby that was just born and in need of it.My blood is boiling so bad and this country is in trouble if they get elected.

In 2017, in a single state (Minnesota), there were 10,000 abortions. 3 were born alive after a failed abortion.

That is one state, in one year. 0.03 percent.

Massive problem? Well yeah-- .03 percent is actually pretty darn significant. That is 3 children out of 10,000 and those 3 children deserved the chance for resuscitative efforts. Would you not agree?

These infants are born alive and not provided resuscitation efforts, and in some cases euthanized outright.

So yep, I would say that a law aimed to compel a PHYSICIAN to provide care for a living infant is not irrelevant.

I will even quote you numbers from a leftist source, so you don't freak out about some right-wing news site
