he's been the cbs host for a decade, after a decade hosting on comedy central. i'd call it a pretty good run
Well, he is being canceled, he's not retiring of his own free will.
Do you think he would stay on, earning a check bashing OMB if it was his choice?

Problem with Stewart is that he's brave enough to 'sometimes' say the truth, but then cowers back down when he's made the collective angry.
Did that (with Colbert) about covid19
And just recently admitted that Colbert was fired because of financial reasons. Even while JUST mocking CBS for having fired him for .. financial reasons.
it's like they know the truth but then don't think the real world should apply to them.
Wonder where they got that idea.

lol and add in John Stewart too.
Stewart is funny though. Colbert hasn't been funny in decades.

“We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire ‘The Late Show’ franchise” in May of 2026, CBS executives said in a statement.
Reruns of any vintage cartoon would kill his ratings.

The tiny part of him that is still a comedian must feel like an absolute loser sell out.
He was paid very well to sell out. Ironically, he owes his "success" over the past several years to President Trump. Take away the Trump-bashing and this minimally-talented whore would've probably just faded away.
