I don't think this is as big of a deal as you think it is. China hacked the F-35 ages ago. They know pretty much everything about it at this point. Their J-35 is based on F-35 technology they hacked. F-35 is an international sales weapon for the US. If they were worried about sensitive equipment getting in the wrong hands it wouldn't be sold on the international market. Also, these are equipped differently than the US counterparts so it's a little different from them stealing off it. US variants have more advanced radars/sensors.

If they stole something on F-47? Then you'd have something because that's the US next-gen fighter that is about to be operational and a domestic weapon solely to the US due to the advantages. China already knows all they need to know about the F-35 which is why they have stealth detection radars against the F-35/F-22. Which is kinda funny because Iran was operating them and not a single one shot a US F-35/F-22 down. US destroyed them all because China seems to underrate everything outside stealth like electronic warfare.

Anyways, knowing, building, and countering is all different things. China doesn't have battle tested military equipment nor do they soldiers. They steal off the US all the time and their tech is time and time again proven not to be as effective as they think. China's biggest advantage on US militarily is their production. US has too much red tape to go through that take years for programs to get going while China spit out 300 aircrafts only for them to go back to drawing board to V3 it for 300 more being better. That's where they're catching up and surpassing us. They can just push the numbers US can't with all their domestic manufacturing advantages so they'll keep stealing and refining.
