I’m reminded of a joke from Sleeper in which a future civilization looks back and says that a nuclear holocaust was traced to a man named Albert Shanker (head of the NY teacher’s union).
Shanker is notorious for an apocryphal quote about only representing students’ needs when they start paying union dues.
