You are missing the opportunity.

Make a video of sawing the barrel in two and post on YouTube. See..idiot libs thinks that destroying the barrel permanently disables the gun.

Promote it and get ads on it. Make money off the video. Double jackpot if it’s promoted on MSM.

Take money and buy a more expensive chrome molly steel chrome lined barrel. If money left over... upgrade optics.

Laugh at the idiocy of the left.

then have police show up at your front door and arrest you for making your weapon illegal and use all the proceeds for your legal bills.

I think it’s a protest of guns because of the shooting. Kinda like people who stopped watching the NFL because of kneeling.

Don't forget the assholes who smashed their Keurig coffee makers after Keurig stopped advertising on Hannity's show.

please tell me people are not doing this...it is like beating a brand new car with a hammer because the car could kill someone in a car accident.

and if the answer to both of those answers is YES, then how in the hell is a mass shooter going to get their hands on these weapons

From the one video I saw the dude wanted to get rid of his AR as a form of support but could never guarantee that if he sold it legally it wouldn't end up in the hands of someone that goes postal, hence the reason he "destroyed" it.

This isn't that crazy.

Maybe it is just me, but I would feel at least a little more guilt if the gun I sold to someone was used in a mass shooting, rather than lets say a car used to run over a bunch of people.

Only he didn’t destroy it. He temporarily rendered it inoperable. It can be fixed in 10 minutes with a new barrel while watching TV.

Which makes me doubt a lot of these videos are genuine. A halfway intelligent gun owner knows this wouldn’t destroy it. It would be par for the course for this to begin to be staged by loons. A network sending a staffer to run through the check and get one to just destroy would be well worth the cost wouldn’t it? 700 or so bucks for a cheaper one vs them running it on a loop in prime time? Oh it’s gonna happen at least once.
