McCain dying is the answer. I’m certain they would probably talk all the Tim and McCain would rot his brain with the Trump hate which he believed because they were really close. Him not getting that anymore allows him to think for himself

Serious: he was a card-carrying member of the old-school form of DC UniParty politics in the Senate whereby you gave the other side what they wanted while they were in power and then they did the same when you were in power and the all the fighting was just for show.
Since Donald Trump was elected, the Democrats completely and totally abandoned and broke this old school rule of politics.
The Kavenaugh hearings where he was accused of being the secret leader of a gangrape cult openly in the media and by members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and then he was attacked by the Senate Judiciary Committee after multiple previous hearings wear nothing was brought up, then it came out of that Dianne Feinstein sat on a bunch of information withholding it from the Senate Judiciary Committee, finally clicked in Lindsey Graham's brain that this is a new form of Democratic party, it is not the old form of politics anymore. And it's time to put up or shut up.
Trump is truly teaching the Republicans how to win.
I think mostly this. I think that's why he and McCain prevented the repeal of Obamacare. After they did that and the dems were still out for blood, plus the Kavanaugh crap, I think he decided he wanted to win

This
Graham tried to play nice on both sides of the aisle to a fault. Once he realized that the Democrats didn't care about that, we started to see him get "red pilled." He felt betrayed. Then, add the Kavanaugh hearing to the mix and how the Democrats handled that. That was the final straw for him.

It’s not super surprising in my opinion. They fricked with him and went way too far on something he’s passionate about. The judiciary.
Come on. It happened way before then. Ever since Graham spent that golf weekend with Trump, it's as if he's Trump's ventriloquist dummy.
Trump either told him about some serious Kompromat he had on Graham, or promised him something big (like the AG, maybe?)

Pence cured him electroshock conversion therapy.
