With congressional approval, sure. Not sure that making Canada an economic behemoth by handing them the world's sixth largest economy would be a good idea though. Their policies are no more conservative than California's are, and we would lose all of our big brother leverage economically speaking.

All for it, however there needs to be some rules in place. For starters, the progressive liberal trash cannot move to the rest of the United States when their socialist society crumbles. I would also want a very large portion of the trash that has moved to Texas to be forced to move back to the new country.

Unilateral secession is illegal. That's my point. It really doesn't matter what the citizens of California want without the consent of Congress.

And "letting them go" is a non-starter for anyone who understands how detrimental such a move would be to both parties. Very similar to Brexit in that regard.

Split Cali into 2 states and give LA to Mexico.

Remove California's status vis a vis the rest of the US, and I don't think they stay the world's 6th largest economy very long.

Once upon a time that state was an industrial powerhouse, and a leading tech innovator.

Not going to flesh out the argument too much, but that is no longer the case. Those guys are running on the fumes of what once was.

Google, Facebook, Pay Pal, Amazon, Ebay, all of these exist because they can operate freely in the US market, and even get the reach around from Federal regulatory agencies.

Personally though, I'm all for getting rid of California. But there are a whole lot of people there who are going to have to face judgment, before that can happen.

Cause otherwise we'll have to invade another country to make sure the right people are hung.

Let California leave then attack!
Occupy California and put it under martial law. Then export all non-native California residents and hang every democrat elected official.

There are several states who need this. For the equalization of congressional representation if nothing else. CA, IL, NY, etc. Would probably require expanding the House though

Why would NV agree to be a part of that exit? Its a culturally redstate with a huge union population to make it purple.

I like it. The attacking part particularly.

But I've put thought into this. I have what I can the "City State Solution" plan.

You know the City States of LA, SF, Portland, and Seattle all on the West Coast.

With a border wall isolating them from the United States.

Texas, Oklahoma, and LA could all leave and call themselves the Oil Confederacy or something like that.
