Which of these three incidents would pose the greatest threat to public safety and would warrant intense public scrutiny and police investigation?
- a noose being found in the garage of a black professional race car driver
- a biracial teen being called a racial slur and set on fire at a stoplight LINK
- a black man being the target of an attempted lynching while he was out for a walk in the woods LINK
Each of these events was one of the lead stories on the national morning news stations when it occurred. A noose was discovered in Bubba Wallace's garage on 6/21. On 6/25, Althea Bernstein was set on fire by "frat boys" while stopped at a stop light in Wisconsin. Vaughxx Booker, a black activist, was the target of an attempted lynching on 7/4. Wallace's story received round the clock media attention and 15 FBI agents before it was determined the noose was a garage pull handle. Bernstein's and Booker's stories have not received any further media attention other than the initial splashy headline.

Why?

Be careful, you'll be called a racist at the drop of a hate around here.

They pull it like a gun.
