• Mayoral Result: Green Party candidate Pete Fry was elected mayor in the municipal election held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, defeating incumbent ABC Party mayor Ken Sim and becoming Canada's first Green Party mayor.
• Council & Board Composition: Progressive parties won a commanding majority of seats across the local government:
• City Council: Split among the Greens (4 seats), COPE (4 seats), OneCity Vancouver (1 seat), and the ABC Party (1 seat, decimated from its previous majority).
• Park Board & School Board: Progressives also took control of nearly all seats on the 7-member Park Board and 9-member School Board.
