MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin on Tuesday became the 16th state to call for a convention of the states to consider making a variety of changes to the U.S. Constitution, a move that drew bipartisan opposition in the state Senate but not enough to block its approval.
The resolution had passed 15 states, mostly in the South, before Wisconsin became the first since Mississippi in 2019 to approve it. Congress must receive requests from 34 states to convene a convention of the states.
It allows for the convention to consider three things: imposing fiscal restraints on the federal government; limiting the federal government’s powers and jurisdiction, and imposing term limits for members of Congress and other federal officials.

Federal government is broken but a group of states that are basically bankrupt and cannot even properly conduct elections may not be the best solution either.

It’s not like they follow the constitution now. They shite all over it every chance they get.

This is why people hate "journalists." This bill obviously had bipartisan SUPPORT in order to pass.

In regards to term limits for congress, does having 30-40 Lame duck Senators for 6 years not frighten the hell out of people?
Imagine the damage someone like Spartacus or Cryin’ Chuck could do without fear of being re-elected.

As opposed to having people like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell in there until they’re 90?
I’ll take the term limits.

Same opponents want to repeal the 2nd A and pack the court with activist leftist judges. How noble of them to be concerned about a convention “reshaping the founding document.”

If the constitution was what we think it is, it would have stopped all this bullshite in it tracks. It needs to be overhauled and written to where the language provides zero doubt of its intent and end judges and politicians trying to interpret it.

Meaningless grandstanding. Wake me up when states start drawing up articles of secession.

Look at people like Romney and Cassidy. They lied to get in and now we have to put up with their shite for only six years.

assuming that I am understanding your correctly....I think you have it backwards. States that are broke will NOT join this fight. Those states NEED federal money.
this fight will be the Haves vs. the Have Nots.

Actually, it IS written in very clear and succinct language. The problem isn't the way it's written. The problem is that politicians and shysters want to play with the meaning of words, i.e. "... It depends on what your definition of 'is' is."
Some amendments need to be repealed as well. Eighteen year olds voting isn't necessarily a good thing. They're just entering the work force and have very little life experience apart from living in their parents' homes.
The federal income tax is another one that needs revisited. Americans are citizens of their individual states. Direct taxation of the American citizen by the federal government bypasses and usurps the authority of the states. Washington needs to be reminded that federal authority is granted by the states to the federal government, not the other way around.
The way our federal government currently operates in no way even remotely resembles what is described in our founding document.
