Mercantilism is anti capitalist, you nimrod. It seeks to enhance the power of the state at the cost of small business.
I think everyone here overestimated you.

I'm off to lunch but i'm going to explain something to you that you already know, but you wont' admit because it then admits Trump is correct in the way he is dealing with tariffs.
Tariff is a stick, that is being used to make bad actors acquiesce to our demands. It works because we are the world's largest market. It works exceedingly well against smaller countries like in Latin America that is almost solely dependent on American capitalism to survive. I am for this. I can be pro capitalism, but also see the value in using tariffs to control other countries to doing what is best for America. You know that this is 100% true, and this is the correct way to conduct American policy at this point. You, however, are literally riddled with TDS. And saying so, causes you to get so mad that you just lash out like a child. It's just a fact. You are blinded by hate. Therefore, you've taken to the MSM narrative of why all these tariffs are bad. This is proven in this very thread. You took the CNN talking point and sprinted to the end zone with it. Only to be called offsides the minute you said go. And the worst part, is you are proven wrong in this thread and refuse to admit it. That shows you have too much pride, that it clouds your sanity and your thinking. And, because getting called out on a message board hurts you so much, you continue to triple down on how wrong you were. And now, you are trying to insult working class people as if they are nothing more than plebes to you, and furthermore, it's come out that your profession may be as a tour bus driver.
But hey, people love condescending assholes that are wrong and refuse to admit it. So keep that up, and let's watch how this unfolds.
Enjoy your lunch, roger.

Again, you are too stupid to read the whole post, huh? Just picking and choosing what is "safe" for you to respond to? So brave.

Would you like to take a poll? I guarantee you i win, over you, on this board. Unless you want to be proven wrong in real time TWICE in the same thread.

Anti capitalism
Youre one of them. Using tariffs as a threat is a hallmark of Mercantilism.
You'll probably be a Bernie fan in a year.

This board is full of retarded populists who couldnt tell Keynes from Adam Smith. BTw: Smiths economics was at odds with Mercantilism.
Youre obviously one.

Yet worked perfectly. Why don’t you just admit your purposefully mischaracterizing the situation because rid you approaches it honestly, it would prove how wrong you are?
But no, you’re too smart for that. Only real geniuses refuse to admit when they are wrong.

Since you are smarter than Trump, me, Wilkow, everyone on the board, how would you have solved the Columbian problem that Trump solved in a matter of hours?

Its the only way he knows to govern. You decide if thats good or bad. Hes a classic 1700s Mercantilist, tariffs are his only weapon.
Government shouldnt be involved with tariffs or making trade deals. This is what separates Mercantilists from Capitalists.
Your ideology is collective

Sent them back home on charter flights.
Which would have worked.
The only thing trump understands is to use threats of tariffs. Thats a shitty way to govern.
If Obama had done this, you would have had a fricking cow.

Trump said the emergency tariffs "on all goods" coming into the US from Colombia would be put in place "immediately", and in one week the 25% tariffs would be raised to 50%.
The man only understands threats and tariffs.

I've preached this since 2016, Junior. You probalby didnt notice because once you used to believe just like I do...
Just because you learned something today, you choose to project.
Youre welcome for the education.

If Reagan would have done it, i would have been happy. If Ike would have done it, i would have loved it.If Jefferson would have done, it i would be ecstatic. What value does throwing old presidents on an argument provide? Makes you look childish.
Speaking of Jefferson, so if i take your tactic of black/white yes/no, i can assume you disapproved of the US economy for the first 150 years of its existence, correct? And they were all wrong and "stupid"? Or do you not know about that?

Mercantilism was an economic system of trade that spanned the 16th century to the 18th century. Mercantilism was based on the principle that the world's wealth was static, and consequently, governments had to regulate trade to build their wealth and national power.

bullshite
Reagans quotas were the reason the Japanese overtook us in the vehicle category. Reagon put quotas on Japanese imports, so they just added value (Lexus, Infinite, et al)
Businessmen are a hell of a lot smarter than politicians.
Protectionism is a Democrat game.

Yes, key word is learned. Which you haven't and won't. You were proven wrong today several times, and you just won't learn from it.
You are a pompous bus driver. You don't need to be thinking you're better than anyone. Your attitude has proven you are a silly person. YOu are not a serious person. You are there with the SDV's of the world. Fanaticism, on either side of the spectrum, is idiocy.
