I don't disagree, but your insistence that the U.S. will lose on all fronts on this matter seems disingenuous.
Manufactuing is never ever coming back. Most Americans evolved beyond basic assembly line work.
You would need more immigrants for that or full automation. Either way, its not creating new jobs for a static population

Absolutely has. Balance of trade is no longer important.
Yes trade deficits do not matter. Are you on crack?

Wealth is not static, balance of trade is irrelevant. In fact, wealthy nations will most likely have a negative balance.
How do you think wealthy nations became wealthy? You really need help with this economy thing. If a nation is wealthy does not mean they will remain wealthy. I can tell you the number one thing that will cause that…..trade deficits. Look it up or google it.

Not for wealthy nations. Macro 101

Most of our wealth came from stock market and high tech.
Wealthy people import, they do not need a balance of trade. Developing nations need a balance of trade more than we ever would.

Trade deficits can be good for the economy in certain situations
They allow countries to consume more than they produce, which can boost economic activity and living standards
They encourage foreign direct investment and debt financing
They indicate strong consumer demand and economic growth

No, they just were shoehorned into a heap of bullshite jobs that contribute little to nothing to the fundamental factors that drive national success... like growing food, building things, making things, innovation and invention.
Instead we have a growing pile of state and federal jobs that increase the debt, the tax burden and ultimately drive down salaries. Meanwhile, China is getting bigger and building a military machine and we're selling them the materials to do it. They're buying our farmland, drilling our oil and we're shrugging because it drives a fricking stock ticker.
Your philosophy has proven wrong and will only prove out more so as time goes on.
