The Soviet soldiers were notorious for raping women as a tool of war. I saw the proof of that when I was deployed to Afghanistan. You would see the off spring of those rapes that happened during the Soviet invasion Afghans who were obviously part Russian. Especially in villages where they successfully fought back, eventually though they were punished for the audacity of fighting back
