National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” on Friday that building a border wall forces drug cartels to dig underground tunnels, which is what the Border Patrol wants them to do, because it affects the cartels’ profits and the Border Patrol’s Intelligence Unit can go after them. Judd said the border wall, which is being built right now, has already shown to be effective along a 58-mile stretch of border that he patrolled. We’ve already added 100 miles of replacement wall. This is a new wall system that helps us secure the border better. I like to go back to my time in Arizona. I worked a 58-mile stretch of border. We didn’t have any infrastructure there. We didn’t have any border barriers there, and we were arresting over 100,000 people in this one small area a year,” he said.
