If there was ever a time for people with different political perspectives choosing to be with their “own kind” it would be at a gathering on election night.
The simple fact is that none of us even thought it remotely odd to attend such a function. We had our philosophical/ideological differences but no one hated anyone for them, and no one labeled anyone else as “evil” for those differences.
Even amongst lawyers (trained to disagree without being disagreeable), I wonder if that gathering would be possible today.
