During Tuesday's city council meeting, Bell said he is looking to challenge state law prohibiting local governments from moving historical monuments on public property.

Gov. Kay Ivey signed the bill into law in May. Breaking the law could result in a $25,000 fine.

Listen, don't try to convince me that blacks are so thinskinned that a statue offends them when calling themselves hos, bitches and the "N" word in rap music doesn't phase them.

Politicians gonna politic. Back when I was a very young boy and our street weren't paved, the local politicians would come by around election time, speak a little Cajun French and offer you a truck load of clam shells for your vote.

This shite is so childish that its sad. Trump is right, where does this stop? The white people of yesteryears did some terrible things and were racist. Now its the black folks, not all I know, that look to be the racist. Maybe someone should remind everyone of this saying, " Those who forget the past , are doomed to repeat it". To me those statues being out in public can be used to teach about one of the bad times in America history. But to remove it and other things about that time, like what the Civil war was really about. So hey, what Liberals don't get is that, you learn from your past, whether good or horrible, but when that past is forgotten it will be repeated. And it takes a dumb uneducated Indian such as myself to think deeply enough to realize that. Just what is it that they think their accomplishing?

that's a stretch, but hopefully no unnecessary vehicular murders will occur.

Statue is right by my kids' school. I'll be sure we'll be out of town when they take it down.
