He won the first three primaries with less than 50% of the vote as the front runner… it was simple math that when the field got down to two, more than 50% were not voting for him
How does this simple math work for "the other" candidate to get more than 50% of the vote if they were not able to get a higher percentage than Bernie when more candidates are available. Are you just blindly assuming every other voter would vote for the 2nd choice, and no one would consider Bernie?

We are not a democracy, we are a republic

He a socialist but correct in this case.
I'm not saying this to fight. But I need to point out that there's a thing called a Socialist Democracy. Where leadership can be either elected in or placed in.
So, as a socialist, he's crying about the exact thing that his political leanings strive for.
He's also crying about the exact same thing that his side of the aisle is crying about when they Reeee about "democracy. Because... we all know... that officially, this is a Republic.

Bernie reaches a lot of the same conclusions MAGA does, but the roads to get there are very different. He is actually an ideological ally in a really weird, tangential sense.
I would argue that he's something of an asset, not an ally. Not arguing your point. Just thinking of a different word.
Yes he and his people. DO cause a lot of problems in the DNC. Especially with him being an Independent.
He's useful to us, in that regard.
But, the fact that he's an open Socislist commie, he's still a very large threat.

he's just upset that he isn't in the oligarchy. he would be ok with it if he was
socialists/communist leaders are fine with everyone else suffering if they're one of the few at the top
it's amazing the useful idiots who advocate for socialism are so out of touch with reality. your life will be so much worse off than you can imagine

So Bernie wasn’t “forced” out in 2016? That was a fair primary with no external forces?
In 2016 he lost the New York primary to Hillary and that was it

The “other” candidate ended up being Biden, but in early 2020 primaries, his vote was split between him, Warren, Buttigieg, Klobuchar, etc. With Bernie being so different from establishment Democrats, it was presented as him vs the field. The first three primaries were in Iowa, New Hampshire, and I think Nevada, a list of mostly white and small states that Democrats want to move to different spots in the primary order. Best believe they used the communist attack on him. The knock on Bernie was that he didn’t poll well with blacks and thus couldn’t drive their turnout enough to win vs Trump. That’s why Obama and Clyburn made the call to get behind Biden and Democrats fell in line. Biden ended up winning big in South Carolina and on Super Tuesday
Coincidentally or not, this was when COVID caught on and the world started shutting down.
