re: Ben Shapiro to appear on Sam Harris' Podcast

Harris and most neuroscientists say there is no such thing as free will as philosophically defined. I would think Shapiro believes in the philosophical free will.

Shapiro videos helped turn my Girlfriend from a snowflake at UF to a middle of the road democrat. I made her sit and watch his arguments with me for awhile.

By the end. A lot of what she felt strongly about was altered because she hadn't heard reasonable arguments against the viewpoints constantly churned at her by other students and liberal professors.

Her view on the BLM movement is gone. She heard his argument on black culture and admitted that it was all true.

He helped me change her view on third term abortion

Helped me change her tune on the racist "system" that forces minorities down(our country simply doesn't do this).

Still working on her on other things but within a year, she has really went out and researched(with me encouraging) and broadened her viewpoints. When you see both sides, you can make a far more substantiated opinion on a matter.

She almost changed my mind that EDM was music.

Then I went to a rave thing. It's not music.

I don't think Shapiro "eviscerated" cenk. In fact I was on here during the live thread during that debate and everyone agreed ben won but not like we thought he would. You're either assuming or misremembering due to a narrative to keep up, but it wasn't as bad as that adjective.

I doubt Shapiro goes too far debating Harris as that's his specialty, same with Shapiro and politics. They probably discuss a few open ideas lightly touching into politics and religion and most likely rationally agree to disagree on many things. Unlike people do around here. Only takes one rational person on the other side to realize how much you actually do have in common, just different views on how to get through life.
