I listen to podcast that include Shapiro, Rogan, Levin, Savage etc. I also watch LI and Tucker at night on Fox.
Shapiro is a critic of EVERYONE (including Trump). He doesn't sugar coat shite and is the most fact-based of any of the others I mentioned. He's also one of the few podcasts i don't have to listen to at 1 1/2x's speed
In every person i have listened to I have found disagreement at some point for one reason or another. No one is perfect.

i'm not really a big defender of Jews in general, but De blasio and Cuomo DGAF about months of BLM protestors wrecking shite, but these Jews are really the ones causing lots of problems?
GTFOWTS. they're absolutely being singled out.

Why are they being singled out?
because they're obviously protesting not being able to attend synagogue.
protestors got to practice their religion with abandon and his blessing for 2 months.
spin it any cute way you want, he allowed one group to practice their 1st amendment rights, he's calling out another group that wants to practice theirs and threatening them.
ETA: if you're going at it from a "they're singling out just Jews" perspective, then nah. it's just cuomo and deblasio being assholes. i'm no shapiro defender on Israel first stuff.

Well he moved to Texas didn’t he?

quote:Wrong. How have they responded to the NY covid requirements? What is the effect of this? How many cases of covid are directly related to the ultra-orthodox community?
because they're obviously protesting not being able to attend synagogue.
Why do they require special treatment? They've ignored masks, social distancing, everything since day one. This was WAY before any BLM protests. When other people get punished for not following these rules, the Jews expect to get special treatment. It's anti-semitic if you punish them for breaking those rules.
I think these rules are dumb and overbearing. But if everyone else gets punished for trying to walk into a store without a mask, why should they get away with it? The holocaust?

i've only heard about this since October. Anything before that, i'm very open to be wrong on.

That's nice but who is his sister voting for?

why did the protestors get 2 months of special treatment?
So you still assert that they're being "singled out?" Completely ignoring all of the other groups (like Christians) who are receiving the same treatment?

it's not a pivot. a certain group broke "rules" and were given a green light

i haven't heard any quotes like the below directed at Christians, BLM, or Muslim communities:
quote:
“My message to the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple: the time for warnings has passed,” de Blasio tweeted Tuesday after police dispersed the funeral in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.
quote:
“I have to say to the Orthodox community tomorrow, ‘If you’re not willing to live with these rules, then I’m going to close the synagogues.'”
while i don't condone the Jews breaking the rules in this situation, i don't fault them for saying screw your unconstitutional rules. i avoid the word "law" here on purpose.
and maybe we're misunderstanding each other. i find you to an incredibly sharp and logical poster. had no intention of getting into any sort of argument.
i'm simply saying that i think Cuomo and DeBlasio have certain rules for a religious community they want to make adhere to rules and there was a certain group they let flaunt the rules along with breaking all sorts of other laws.
my concern isn't for the "jews" in this situation, it's the hypocrisy of both of Cuomo and DeBlasio. I couldn't care less about Jews as a religion as far as being singled out.

“I have to say to the Orthodox community tomorrow, ‘If you’re not willing to live with these rules, then I’m going to close the synagogues.'”
Could it be that they are the most egregious rule breakers? Could it be that they, as a community, don't give a frick about any of the restrictions that have been passed because they expect special treatment?
They have contributed, likely more than any other group in NYC, to the spread of the virus. We know this based on testing that's been done in the ultra-orthodox community.

Took me 30 seconds to find this. There are at least 20 articles on this topic going back to April
LINK
quote:
Covid-19 rates in New York — which have been very low in New York City for months — are rising again in areas where ultra-Orthodox Jews have been disregarding orders to follow social distancing rules to stem the spread of the coronavirus

I generally like Shapiro but his “always right” Schlick gets a little old at times
“Guys, I’ve been saying this for months..”
*completely flips position 2 weeks later*
“Guys, as I’ve said for months now”
But he does bring a lot more fact to the table than most commentators
