The Feds don’t typically lose in court. Unless you are really confident that their case has some significant holes, just take the plea bargain.

They charged him with the "honest services" part of the fraud but not her. It is the part of the fraud where some other victim gets ripped off, in this case some other applicant doesn't get accepted because their daughter got that spot instead (via fraud).

They'll likely be able to do the time in house arrest because of Covid. I guess that's why they're pleading now.

It’s a bit more but still in line with a lot of the other sentences. Shortest I saw was two days, longest was 4 months

I cannot think of anything ever where the ratio between my give a frick level and coverage level was MORE inversely proportional.
