Anything can be a "named storm". So anything can be used to deny you coverage.

Less people that lived in coastal areas.
They had big storms prior to man documenting everything.
Earth has Ben through ice ages, warming trends, and storms. It just didn’t start because little Bobby three used a plastic straw.
