I've always had this worry of Iran and China coordinating in some way to draw the US attention to the middle east while China takes Taiwan. Then you add in Ukraine and Russia and the resources the US and EU have wasted there.

No. There are small handfuls of troops involved in securing federal buildings and what not for these protests. They are the rapid deployment types and aren’t who will be called on if things in the ME pop off. Not at first.
Add to that the fact that if things in the ME pop off the funding for these protests will dry up (bad optics) and the protests are over in a week.
