I would say it had more to do with them wanting the govt to pay the bill for the transition.
Like inmates, Iowa being a recent example, that want to have tax payers pay, and then get moved to women prisons.

It’s scary that someone like this exists. That this person is in government and has huge support is really a symptom of a sick suicidal country.
