It’s shocking it took 30min for a correction. If it’s that easy to send, it’s that easy to correct or send an update.

That’s probably when the guy said oh shite what do I do and then waited for to be told what to do. Considering the way government works I bet everyone was more worried about CYA than fixing the problem.

Idiot State Employee A: "Oh shite! I accidentally sent out a message to the public that a ballistic missile was inbound to the island! Should I send out another message to tell them it was a mistake?"

Idiot State Employee B: "Nooo! It's against policy to send out a message without consent from the boss first!"

Idiot State Employee A: "Where's the boss? We need his consent!"

Idiot State Employee B: "He's surfing. I'll text him and we'll just wait until he gives us permission."
