Anyone know what's going on with the Kent County GOP in Michigan?

Looks like some Never Trump people won't relinquish control. Anyone know what's going on? It looks messy and confusing.

Kent County GOP leaders bash President Trump and MIGOP chair Pete Hoekstra - until Trump comes to town
quote:
A week after going viral on X and Facebook for calling the cops to remove duly elected precinct delegate, Stefanie Boone, for peacefully insisting on attending a meeting at which she was removed from membership of the GOP, President Trump announces he is coming to town and leaves the tyrannical Kent County Republican Party (KCGOP) out in the cold.
A “roadside rally” is now planned for the event. The forecast calls for snow.
On March 25, KCGOP held a meeting to consider passing new bylaws that allowed the county party to remove any delegates from membership for the “crime” of recording the meetings or speaking publicly and critically about county party leadership.
In anticipation of that meeting, Bigger Truth hosted a podcast earlier that day with guests Stefanie Boone, Tom Nemcek, and Cindy Alberta. Boone and Nemcek were KCGOP Executive Committee (EC) members and Alberta was an EC in District 3. In that podcast, the guests spoke candidly about the consistent dictatorial behavior by the KCGOP leadership, especially their crushing tyranny over anyone who criticized the former Michigan Republican Party Chair, Kristina Karamo.
In apparent retaliation, the agenda had two new items added when the meeting commenced: a new “proposed standing rule” and “proposed removal of EC members.”
The proposed standing rule would potentially remove any member who “posted or actively supported negative or disparaging comments on any form of social media” against KCGOP.

Kent County resident here.
The establishment is deeply entrenched here in Western Michigan - something I never anticipated nor expected. That was always the other side (Detroit) of the state I assumed.
I went to many local GOP official party meetings in/around town (Grand Rapids) after the 2020 election was decided and the absolute disinterest in the shenanigans that took place during the election - we all remember the windows being boarded up so no one could observe - was absolutely shocking. The GOP officials just pretended it didn't happen and weren't at all interested in addressing voter rolls, mail in ballots, etc etc.
Long story short. Kent County GOP is as establishment as you can get.

West side of MI is a GOPe stronghold.
This is just a reflection of the schism within the party where the GOPe would rather lose to the Democrats than lose their control of the party.
I think you’re already seeing a split where the diehard GOPe politicians are quitting rather than going along with the other side of the GOP coalition.

I live in Louisiana, but work for my second company based out of Grand Rapids..I find this shocking.. I would never have thought this after all the time I spent there...The owner of the first company I worked for in GR fired a guy for having an Obama bumper sticker on his vehicle.
