If so, do you find it relevant to your politics?

I don't see anything that would point to the masons being involved. I would bet on isis before mason.

Yep....especially in the sense that we are endowed by our Creator with certain rights. Strictly speaking, we never openly discuss politics in the Blue Lodge because it is a place where we specifically focus on the things to which we agree.

Yes, but not for any obvious reasons.

It’s sad to me. My grandpa was one, but I can’t do it (even though I think I would like a lot of it) because I don’t believe in a supreme being.

Yeah, that's definitely a deal breaker.

Kudos to you for having enough respect for the brotherhood to be honest about it.

Not one but my Dad is a the past Grand Master for the State of Illinois. I don't think it factors into his politics in the least.

They don't care. I know several openly atheist and agnostic masons. When I pledged and was asked about it I was honest and upfront and other than discussing it it wasn't a problem. I dropped out though after 6 months when the subject of Prince Hall masonry came up and one of our brothers told me, in front of about 20 fellow masons, that if I ever met a black man with a Masonic ring to assume it was stolen....and boy did they think that was hilarious. I did some very light research and discovered this was the gospel....prime hall masonry is not recognized by any grand lodge in e US.....and there are NO black masons in the F&&AM....when in enquirer about the truth of this I was told, again in a group, that black men couldn't join because it only took one black ball when a candidate was being voted on and black men already had two...again, they thought this was HILARIOUS ! I haven set foot in a lodge since. I was only 22 at the time and had no idea that the F&AM was a safe heaven for racists....I was very naive.

What I find odd is most of the masons I've met in Alabama/Georgia were black - granted many of these were in majority minority or half and half cities.

Not calling you a liar or anything, I just find that interesting considering what your bros said and knowing I've met many who were black.

Did you not read what he said? Those rings were stolen.
