Another cool thing about this cover is that it's a recapitulation of a cover Time did last year (same artist, obviously):

It really is sad and comical to watch traditional media desperately trying to create manufactured "bombshell controversy after bombshell controversy" in an all out war to keep their industry relevant.
With the advent of the internet traditional media has been in a slow and steady decline. No longer can they completely control the dissemination of information and the narrative in which they chose to present it. There is too much information readily available to anyone with the swipe of a phone. They're engaged in a two-front war to both keep themselves relevant AND convince you to believe every word they say. From the NY Times to local news stations, all are running ads imploring you to believe them and look to them as the bastion of truth. Sadly (for them) the combination of having to carry the water for a ridiculously flawed presidential candidate (Clinton) coupled with a candidate who very publicly was willing to take them on forced the media to fully shed the facade of objectivity
Though certainly not without his foibles and own credibility issues, Trump has rattled the media to their core as at least a significant % of the American public doesn't put much, if any, credibility in what they "report"
