re: Another Point of View on Abortion

This analogy only works for the tiny minority of abortions of pregnancies resulting from rape.
I agree with your conclusion. I remember years ago when I first read of the thought experiment. It gave me pause for a time.

What are your thoughts.
If your conscious and informed decisions led someone else into needing a bone marrow donation to survive, there should be a serious conversation as to whether you should be forced to give donate bone marrow.
Women choose to have sex, knowing the consequences. This cannot be compared to people expecting you to correct a bad hand dealt to someone else by an indifferent universe, the woman made her choice.
Also, this is an interesting line of thought. If someone else isn't entitled to my body, how TF does welfare exist? How much less wear and tear would my body have if I worked 10-20% less?
"Oh, but Azkiger, they'll starve!"
Bodily autonomy, bitch!

If the abortion only impacted the body of the person, I’d get it.

Progressives are insanely selfish people
It’s all about them and how pregnancy impacts them. Never how abortion may effect others. They should be able to have as much sex as they want with whoever they want and if a baby comes into the picture they should just be able to chop it up so they can keep having sex without whoever they want and not be bothered with any responsibilities.
It’s the mentality from which most of their ideological missteps originate

I’m not nearly as staunch as many on this board, but that argument is and always has been nonsense.
None of the examples provided involve actively ending the existence of another living entity. And whether or not you consider a fetus at any stage a human, it is undeniably and without question alive by any modern scientific definition of the term.
Someone dying because they did not get your heart or kidney or bone marrow is fundamentally different from directly ending the existence of another living entity. Moreover, women don’t just magically become pregnant. In 99.99% of cases, pregnancy is the result of a consensual act the woman chose to participate in knowing the potential was there for pregnancy. Those same women played no part in whatever led to someone else needing an organ transplant.

Uh, no. It's not an arbitrary qualifier. Nine months is the gestation period for the human species. Each species has its own gestational period.
Again, nobody cares about gestation. It does not help your point at all.
quote:
It literally destroys the argument that fetuses have bodily autonomy, on its face, because they literally do not.
Literally rambling at this point.
Everybody knows a fetus does not have bodily autonomy and nobody has said otherwise.
The right to "bodily autonomy" ends with the act of intercourse, it cannot extend to the execution of a human life.

Laughable. The party of "less government" wants to control more humans. Ok.

Party of less federal government.
A very important distinction, no?
