Yeah, one of them did jail time for being a whistleblower against the CIA and the other still works for the CIA as their mouthpiece for podcasts. I'd say they definitely have differing opinions on the CIA.

In all fairness you have to take into account that the CIA put Kiriakou in jail for a long time on BS charges because he bucked them on torture

Thanks, I'll watch this later.

Ray McGovern and Larry Johnson are other former CIA guys who make the rounds on podcasts. They are not quite as jaded as Kiriakou and don't say so much that the agency is corrupt/dirty -- they paint a picture of a bunch of bureaucrats who politicize intelligence in order to gain career advancement. They say the walls put up between the intel gathering and the more political side have been pulled down through the years.

Also take into account that Kiriakou is a far lefty who supports Bernie Sanders and worked for Russian state sponsored media, so there’s that.

Kiriakou and Bustamante had different roles in the CIA that kind of work against each other. Bustamante was a field agent doing a lot of the dirty work that field agents do. Kiriakou was effectively his boss sort to speak.....maybe not directly, but Kiriakou and Tenet, etc helped shape the policy Kiriakou outs the CIA guys in the field on the water boarding thing. Probably something that Bustamante and his other field agents used to some affect.

From what I understand Bustamante is the real deal as a spook and something of a true believer in the mission and role of the CIA.
