Something tells me I have a better understanding of the actual grassroots movement than a boomer with his Facebook and DVR’d Hannity.

Spare me the silent majority will save us nonsense. The silent majority will delay the inevitable for a little while longer. But until the silent majority starts holding the politicians they elected accountable for massive government expansion and erosion of individual liberty, it is nothing more than a stop gap.

I think you’re confused about what America actually is. It has nothing to do with your trip to Walmart for an Ozark Trail tumbler before your trip to Orange Beach. It’s a set of ideals that have been abandoned by our politicians and forgotten by its citizens. That ain’t worth saving.

I'm talking about balkanization, not picking up and leaving. Splitting the United States into multiple countries based on social, geographical and political factors. This has been discussed on here before by multiple posters at length, but the love it or leave it crowd can't get beyond the subject line to actually have a discussion.

Explain from a libertarian standpoint how the free market is supposed to fix these things

They still think Nikki Haley and Trey Gowdy are heroes

They have framed pictures of Benjamin Netanyahu and John Hagee on their nightstands

Allowing monopolies is not a true free market principle, for starters

Kill yourself. Or leave.
This is the United States of America. The greatest nation on earth. We have always had differences. Some of them terrible and bloody. But, we always survived and we are ALL Americans and we have always been great.
Have we made mistakes as a nation? To be sure. But we as a nation have survived.

The free market doesn't fix this problem. If the United States government respected the notion of popular sovereignty, it would be possible for like-minded, small government types to come together and remove themselves from the leviathan and implement a free market system. That will never happen in our system, as any attempt to peacefully secede would be crushed. What I am talking about is recognizing that the divide in this country is wide and will only get wider with inward migration and 3rd world immigration, which to me will lead to violence.

What about open migration?

How do we get to free market principles from where we are now? I'm interested to hear how we "make the government smaller" in order to institute these free market principles.

Exactly. That's kind of a problem though when the basis for every solution (by many "conservative" libertarians) is the free market or a fanciful notion of a "smaller government"
