IIRC, the guy they used was working as a film editor in H'wood. He was nearby and available, thus saving time & money. This takes priority over satisfying a few people in a small section of one state.

Yeah, plus if they had used a real Cajun in the 1960s about half of the TV audience wouldn't understand what he was saying.
That's why the TV Cajun chef guy, Justin Wilson, did not have a Cajun accent.

Should Tuskegee Airman history get cut because they're minorities?

Do we do this for all minority groups?

400,000 US soldiers died in WW2, where is the Italian, Jewish, Catholic, French, Hispanic, Asian video showing their heroics?

I think you forgot the Native Americans. One group of Native Americans was so important that they were to be killed by the US before being captured by the Japanese.

They should be held up a National Heroes - we need a memorial dedicated to them along with all the other memorials.

They took down many memorials the past 16 years.

Everyone, white or black can identify with the courage and patriotism of a group of black pilots who excelled in their field and made a real difference in WW2 despite being treated as second class citizens. They should be admired by all.

Would we have won or lost the war if they were not around? Same question would go with the women being talked about.

Im thinking if we removed the Navajo from the war it would create a major ripple that would affect the outcome.

That is how I would judge my special admiration for a group as a whole.

Uh, the history of the branch you serve in is part of the training every service member receives. Should Tuskegee Airman history get cut because they're minorities? You know people can learn a bunch of things, right? You can learn your job and history, it's not that hard.

If it's a part of AF history 101, sure as a particular squadrons impact on battles just like any other squadron. Which Im assuming aren't going to be celebrated for being brave smart White men as apart of the lesson.

Now, if they created a specific tactic that is used today then sure that is taught, with mention/credit that they did something specific that is being taught. But celebrating them as if they won the war is to much.
