I love how definitive some people like to be about this issue. Abortion is a 50/50 issue. This decision should be left to the individual and NOT the federal gov’t. I’m sorry, but the feds shouldn’t be dictating morality.

Again, pro-choice. Anti-abortion.

Well it very well could be, if my DNA is in that baby, yes, it's part of my body.

Are you 12 years old?

The world isn't black and white, and it's possible to be open minded enough to support policies from each party.

I sometimes wonder how much less people would care about abortion (on both sides) if it wasn't a political issue.

I agree, the states should be able to decide, as it was originally intended, and should not be forced to uphold a federal law forcing them to allow murder.

Tangent: surely you realize fedgov "dictates morality" constantly with all sorts of laws...

Back to subject: morality is not the issue, the right of the developing infant to live is the issue.

I'd love for you to explain your counterpoint, if there's one.

If not, just go ahead and leave your emoji there.

I, too, would like this issue legislated and upheld in the sole purview of state powers. It may be the only compromise amenable to both sides.

You are either a Democrat or a Republican.

If you support abortion you are a Democrat.

You have probably voted for a POS Democrat.

God... small mind thinking at work here. I feel pity for one who boxes themselves in to this line of thinking.

And FYI, I've only voted R or I in my life.

It's the only solution. Competition within the Republic would bring the most happiness and well being to the greatest amount of people.

I'm not Christian.

Again, you're boxing yourself into a 2 party system.

Open your mind, it's very freeing when you do.

I used to think like that. Proud independent, etc.

But you need to look critically at the extreme leftward polarization of the modern Democrat party. If you vote D, you absolutely are giving your political consent to their embrace of marxism. It is no longer about R vs D. D is now "democratic socialism".

Its not wise. Socialism and its big brother communism are the path to destruction.

What party would that be ?

I sure as hell won't vote for or join the Libertarian Party.

They are worse than Democrats.

I fully agree with this, which is why I vote R.

Even though I support 3 or 4 stances of the Left in regards to social issues, the country's economy and security trumps these social issues.
