Refuse to fund the ATF until they drop this BS.
I know abolishment of the ATF would be great, but I’m speaking in the context of what the House has the means to do given that we have a (D) Senate and a (D) Tater-In-Chief

It’s all redundant and is based on accessories rather than the weapon itself.
Imo any semi auto weapon should be legal.
As with full auto and explosives get rid of the “made before 1986” crap and tax stamps/transfers/registration. If you want to buy full auto or explosives you get a single license after a full background check and training. No private sales of these allowed it must go through FFL and you if you want to sell one you go through FFL. Record is kept of who owns full autos

Will simply removing “get rid of” the brace be legal?
Can’t seem to find that answer
The document I saw from the ATF said you could remove the brace. No mention of destroying it or throwing it away.
Similar to a forearm grip for a pistol.

Finally, with respect to the suggestion that short-barreled rifles and shotguns be removed from the scope of the NFA, doing so is not within the Department’s authority and therefore is beyond the scope of this rule.

Permanently remove and dispose of, or alter, the “stabilizing brace” such that it cannot be reattached, thereby removing the weapon from regulation as a “firearm” under the NFA. The Department recognizes that the removal of a “stabilizing brace” from a firearm that was originally received as a “short-barreled rifle” results in the production of a “weapon made from a rifle,” as defined by the NFA. However, the Department in its enforcement discretion will allow persons to reconfigure the firearm to a pistol by [INSERT DATE 120 DAYS AFTER DATE OF PUBLICATION IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER] and will not require the registration of these firearms as a “weapon made from a rifle.”
It won't stand judicial scrutiny.

Democrats want to ban pistol grips and muzzle devices. They're so fricking stupid.
Its my guess these precious little girls think muzzle devices are actually "silencers."

This rule is effective the date it is published in the Federal Register. Any weapons with “stabilizing braces” or similar attachments that constitute rifles under the NFA must be registered no later than 120 days after date of publication in the Federal Register; or the short barrel removed and a 16-inch or longer rifle barrel attached to the firearm; or permanently remove and dispose of, or alter, the “stabilizing brace” such that it cannot be reattached; or the firearm is turned in to your local ATF office. Or the firearm is destroyed.

How long do we have to wait until the Supreme Court steps in?

I have no desire to have an AR pistol, but for the life of me I cannot understand why they want to ban pistol braces in any functional way.
Ive got the opposite problem, my guns are too big and heavy.

I don’t know but I ain’t doing jack until they render a decision. If they render an unfavorable decision I’ll probably slap a 16” upper on my SBR at that time. I don’t see them upholding this BS though.

I really hope Justice Thomas gets his hands on this. Has potential to be the biggest Second Amendment win since it was written.

So anyone owning a short barrel semi-auto rifle is currently a felon?

it's for your safety!!! SBRs are less accurate. they shoot bullets at lower velocity (less deadly). they make more noise. and they produce more felt recoil.
IT'S FOR YOUR SAFETY!

All of this and more are why I will get rid of the ATF.
Goodbye ATF
Goodbye ATF

The courts will handle it. Bureaucrats don't get to write the rules they're supposed to enforce.
Posted on 1/24/23 at 6:57 am to Tmo Sabe
The best option is to give it 60-90 days and see what injunctions are put in place. This one is going to take a long time to figure out. If there is any sanity left in the US, they need to delay action before turning 3 million law abiding Americans into potential felons.
