edit to add - i will say, that doesnt change the fact that the JAG corps in the Marines is disproportionately (to the rest of the officer corps) liberal. but i also have some super conservative friends who are JAGs constantly fighting the good fight.

When one of his own subordinate officers publicly insults him on an international forum, he cannot ignore that. This goes far beyond simply disagreeing with your chain of command. This is a pretty blatant case of insubordination and conduct unbecoming an officer. He should be court martialed, and lose his commission, and be discharged.
