You are confusing echo chamber with censorship. Echo chambers reinforce one’s own already held beliefs. This can be by censorship or other means such as overwhelming mob mentality. This place is the latter.

For example, CNN and Fox News are echo chambers. They bring on opposing panelist, but they are there as punching bags and are always outnumbered by pundits and hosts with other beliefs. Hence, echo chamber to confirm an already held belief.

Here, any non conservative view point is quickly downvoted to oblivion and met with memes such as “you get what you vote for”, “go woke go broke”, “filthy prog”, “groomer”, etc. which only confirms everyone’s already held belief entrenching everyone in deeper and deeper political tribalism. Hence, echo chamber.

You can go to a liberal leaning thread on Reddit and post your conservative viewpoint without censorship. You will thusly be downvoted and called all kinds of names and just come back here saying it’s an echo chamber even though you weren’t censored. And you’d be right.

No, the people just aren't convinced by the emotional stupidity offered in response to facts, data and rationality. But they were still allowed to present their case, no matter how banal and vapid it is.

Plenty of people claim dissenting voices are not allowed on reddit/DU/etc. They have been banned, posts censored, etc.
