none of this takes into account the chances of a midnight ballot drop occurring coincidentally in key counties of the most competitive states.

In my old arse lifetime, most midterms are a bloodbath. Hell, the Osiah stormed into office with a super majority and boom, midterms.
So even under normal circumstances midterms are tough. The party in power is apathetic and the party out of power is pissed.
Toss in Iran and the midterms should be easy for Democrats. Add straight up socialists and communists and Democrats are doing everything possible to ruin their easy win.
Bill Maher straight up saying his vote is up in the air. Undecided. The guy who said the last midterms were an existential crisis is now at least contemplating voting outside of the Democrat party because he knows socialism and communism do not work for anyone.
